St Margaret’s Residences is progressing well. The bathrooms, kitchens, and painting is commencing at Westall. All the flooring has been laid and it’s starting to take shape.

The historic buildings at St Margaret’s Residences are made from a solid Heavitree stone; a type of breccia stone that is made from broken minerals or rocks that have been compressed together. This red stone is prevalent in many old buildings in Exeter and was used to construct Exeter Castle and the old city walls.

St Margaret’s Residences shall be constructed by harnessing this beautiful stone and so preserving it is of upmost importance. A fibre membrane, insulation and dry-lined plasterboard is being applied to the inside wall at Wynlaton House to ensure the historic fabric of the building is protected whilst offering modern insulation standards and comfort for the homeowners.
